Spam Filters
Get familiar with e-mail spam filters, the things they do and how to enable them.
An email filter is a software app that is installed on a POP3/IMAP mail server and monitors all inbound messages to prevent any undesirable ones from reaching a given mailbox. Several instances of such email messages would be: offers for pills or money, fraudulent banking notices or attachments that contain malicious code sent with the intention of infecting your computer. Spam filters normally ‘scan’ the content of an email and if they spot given keywords or other suspicious content, they either erase the email message or redirect it to the Junk/Spam folder instead of the Inbox folder. Some companies mix their own email filters with up-to-the-minute databases from spam-monitoring organizations, so as to ensure better protection for their customers. Such databases contain patterns, email server IPs and other info about spam messages recently uncovered by these organizations.

Spam Filters in Cloud Web Hosting
In case you reach the decision to host your domain names with our company and you select any of our
Linux cloud web hosting, you’ll be able to activate spam filtering for any mailbox that you set up. With a couple of clicks of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel, you can configure 5 separate levels of security. If you continue to get spam messages or the filters start preventing genuine messages from reaching your mailbox, you can change the level just as easily. The efficiency of our spam filtering service is ensured by one of the most famous filters – SpamAssassin. In case you don’t want to risk skipping a legitimate message that may be classified as spam because of its content, you can also create custom email filters based on the sender, the body or the subject of the message and forward the emails to a separate email account where you can review them later.

Spam Filters in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you decide to use the mail service that comes with our
Linux semi-dedicated plans, you can keep all unasked-for messages away from your inbox by activating the five-level anti-spam protection service that we offer with each semi-dedicated hosting plan. This can be achieved via the full-featured Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel and we use the advanced SpamAssassin email filter to make certain that we provide the best possible protection for our customers. You can have a different anti-spam level for each email account and you can choose if the filtered emails should be erased or forwarded to a different email address where you can check them later to make sure that you are not losing authentic email messages. Switching to some other protection level or disabling the spam protection is also easy and requires a few clicks of the mouse.
